Vector Aerospace

Background

Vector Aerospace is a global leader in aerospace maintenance, repair and overhaul, providing responsive, quality support for turbine engines, components, fixed – and rotary – wing aircraft. Vector employs 2,200 staff across 21 locations and has 3,000 customers across the world.

Strengthscope has provided leadership development services to Vector since 2012, supporting the company in developing its future leaders to enable the company’s continued success in an increasingly competitive marketplace.

Our solution

Since 2012, Strengthscope has provided Vector with a strengths-based leadership development program that has continued to evolve as the company’s needs have changed over time. The objective of the program is to develop nominated future leaders to become more effective people leaders by developing skills in self-awareness, coaching, stakeholder management, communicating with impact, change leadership and developing high-performing teams.

The program incorporates the following features:

  • Strengths-based, helping participants to identify and stretch strength areas from the outset, while minimizing risks to performance
  • Blended learning approach, including workshops, peer coaching, action learning, forum theatre, business simulations, guest speakers
  • Iterated over time, for example introducing real-world business projects and change leadership in 2016 as a response to changes in the business’ needs
  • Dovetailed with masterclasses which continue post-program, in order to keep the program live for participants, continuing to stimulate debate and thinking.

Outcome

Evaluation undertaken of the most recent program revealed the following

All delegates felt that their attendance at their program had resulted in a significant positive impact on:

  • The Vector business as a whole
