PhotoBox leads the way in enabling consumers to create physical products out of digital content. Its business is all about innovation and its people and change team recognises the importance of innovating too. Taking an existing leadership team and structure, they designed and delivered a six-month programme that changed the organisational culture and drove customer satisfaction to record highs.
The Leadership Development Programme
Working closely with Strengths Partnership, PhotoBox designed and delivered a six-month strengths-based leadership development programme, comprising:
- 3 workshops: Positive Leadership Master Class; Strengths Coaching for Results and Engaging One-to-Ones
- Cross-functional peer coaching groups (to cascade learning from workshops, encourage cross functional relationships and support the development of stretch projects)
- Stretch projects – team based business proposals aiming to drive profitability, brand engagement and a positive, values-based culture.
All this culminated in a Dragon’s Den style event in which teams pitched their stretch project ideas to the board. Three teams won funding to realise their projects.
“Adopting a strengths-based approach provided us with a lens as to what we’re really good at, as individuals, as teams and as a business. It helped us recognise and promote ourselves at our best. We’ve since embedded strengths into all our people processes,” advises Michael.
Results of the programme
96% of participants felt that the training has helped them understand how they can maximise their strengths as a leader
92% reported that the training would help them better understand and reduce sources of risk, including weaknesses and strengths in overdrive, which could undermine their performance as a leader
94% reported a high level of confidence that the training would improve their effectiveness as a leader within PhotoBox
